Hi Wen ~ just catching up on some reading and saw your list of books. The Hot Zone stuck out since I had my junior English kids read it long time ago. I think it was close to the time the country was worried about HIV too. These are old books based on true stories that I remember my students really got into: Both Sybil and The Minds of Billy Milligan were about multiple-personalities. And In Cold Blood by Truman Capote -- a real life murder. Have you read them?

Hi Jan, thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment. I remember the 1970s movie being made about Sybil with Sally Field playing the lead based on real life case of Shirley Mason, but I havenโ€™t read the book. The Minds of Billy Milligan was one that slipped my radar so thanks very much for the recommendation. Iโ€™m know of the Truman Capote book ICB but never got round to reading it so thanks for the reminder about this one also. What fascinated me about Richard Prestonโ€™s books was the subject of epidemiology which has always been a strong interest of mine. I quite like medical thriller fiction authors like Robin Cook and Michael Crichton. And on the subject of Michael Crichton Iโ€™m reminded of several other titles for my favourites list so Iโ€™ll add them to my post soon. What are some of your favourite books and authors?
